Hello Swampscott!     

My name is Lucica Ciuc and I am the proud owner of www.goldfeatherphotography.com and this is a picture of my family and me on our front yard; living in Swampscott, MA. Like many of you, we are at home with my family doing what we can to flatten the curve of the Covid19 virus that is hitting us in every way possible. Like all of you, we are missing our relatives, neighbors, friends, and our community. The kids are missing their friends from school and teachers. In these times of uncertainty, I wanted to be able to give back to our wonderful community by participating in this amazing project called #thefrontstepsproject. Because I am a photographer I get to spend lots of time meeting amazing families throughout the community. That is why I am so excited about this project! Want to know more keep reading..

 We are living in an unprecedented time as if we are living in a bad dream, one day our grandchildren will be reading about this in their history books! In this strange time of being alone and isolated from what we took for granted every day, I also wanted to do something fun for the community. I have personally been feeling pretty helpless! My photography business has come to a complete halt due to social isolation so what's a girl to do to stay busy and have a purpose?  

The purpose of this project is to bring us together when we might feel isolated.  I aim to highlight the faces of our community during a time when we might not see them in passing at the grocery store, school drop off, coffee shop or at the gym.  Participating in this project is also an opportunity to step up to help those who need it most right now in Swampscott, MA. 

​Starting today, I am taking five minutes "Front Steps Portraits" of Swampscott residents. You will know when I am coming. You can step outside, where I’ll be standing near your driveway or street, at least 10 feet away. I’ll take a couple of quick shots and leave. I physically interact with no one, and touch nothing, during these sessions. I *do* smile and laugh with you, however, and don’t we all need a little bit of that right now? I will be taking images outside ONLY.  I will use a lens that allows me to stay 10 feet or more away from you and your family to ensure a safe social distance. Our session will be brief, likely just 5 minutes. This is not a typical get-dressed-up-and-pose-for-the-photographer session unless you want to of course... or even you can let the kids pick out the craziest outfit that they want, or even pajamas and slippers. Just be you, be creative for your family 'Front Steps Portrait'. Each family will receive 2 digital files that will be emailed to you on a private online gallery within a week after your session. I will photograph couples, families, and even individuals or just kids. Please feel free to include your pet in your session. Let's get the community together, help those in need and have some fun!  

After your quick session, I will email you the digital file of your portrait.  In exchange for the digital files of your portrait, I ask you to make a good faith donation to the Anchor Food Pantry through the link below. Suggested donation is $50 but any amount is appreciated. (Feel free to contribute more if you are able) 

 I will be posting these images on my Facebook and Instagram pages using the hashtag #TheFrontStepsProject & #The FrontStepsProjectSwampscottMA. Please share these posts. Let’s spread the word! 

Excited to see what our community can do! If a travel ban is issued, we will have to postpone the session until the ban is lifted. So the opportunity for this is time-sensitive.
